The president (PT) said on Friday (8) that the minister, of the (Supreme Court), is “guaranteeing democracy” in Brazil.
Lula gave his speech when heading to Senator Sérgio Petecão (PSD-AC) during a speech in Acre. The president also criticized the occupation of the Senate and House board, made for two days, by opposition parliamentarians who protested against the former president’s house arrest ().
“You, Petecão, do not sign an impeachment request from Alexandre de Moraes, because it is ensuring democracy. Who should have impeachment is these deputies and senators who are trying to strike so as not to allow the House and Senate, true traitors of the homeland,” said Lula.
President Lula makes the first visits to Acre and Rondônia in the current term on Friday (8). The petista will go to Porto Velho later this afternoon, after leaving the Acre state.
In Acre, Lula makes investments of R $ 1.1 billion from the federal government in infrastructure, transport, energy, education and land regularization for the state. The event is attended by Governor Gladson Cameli (PP), who in 2022 supported Jair Bolsonaro in 2022.
Government governed by the PT for 20 years in a row, Acre gave a right turn from the 2018 elections, since then becoming a Bolsonarist stronghold. In 2022, Bolsonaro had 70.3% of the valid votes in the second round in the Acre electorate, while Lula obtained 29.7%.
