According to the mayor, the table will meet this Friday to decide on the punishments to parliamentarians who exceeded during the occupation and the cases will be sent to the Ethics Council
The President of the Chamber of Deputies, (Republicans-PB), reaffirmed on Friday (8), his conduct before the act of opposition to take the table of the house. Motta said the episode was sad, something that had never been lived, and stressed that he opted for the dialogue, “as always” did. Motta again reinforced that no guidelines were negotiated for the normality to be resumed and indicated that the board of directors of the house evaluates possible punishments to the deputies who participated in the act. According to the deputy, the table will meet this Friday to decide on the punishments to parliamentarians who exceeded and the cases will be sent to the Ethics Council. Motta mentioned that there were also cases of aggression on the day when the Chamber table was resumed.
The mayor repeated that the war was won without having to shoot. “Many confuse our action with one that could be more energetic, that we could have used strength, and I am sure I made the right decision,” he said. He also pointed out that he would never act to use physical strength in the case, because it was a movement of parliamentarians and not a movement that was invading the house. Motta explained that the opposition action began, as he had a prior schedule in Paraíba, but accompanied the unfolding during Tuesday and, as soon as he arrived in the federal capital, began talking to the parties to build the “best exit possible”.
The mayor said the opposition movement occurred amid an atypical scenario in the country, with a crisis in various parts of the institutional organization, a crisis between powers and a challenging international scenario.
