Two European capital airports had to end for several hours. Of Brussels promises a response with “strength and determination”, even if it is not clear what happened
It is with serious words that the president of the European Commission reacts to what happened last night in Scandinavia, where several drones forced the closing of Copenhagen and Oslo airports.
Without referring to Norway, which is not part of the European Union, Ursula von der Leyen noticed only what happened in Denmark, where the main airport was closed for four hours.
The European Union’s maximum guardian reported that she had spoken on the phone with Denmark Prime Minister about drone foray.
“Although the facts are still being ascertained, it is clear that we are witnessing a persistent provocation pattern in our borders,” he wrote on social network X.
And it was after Ursula Von der Leyen left the biggest warning: “Our critical infrastructures are at risk. And Europe will respond to this threat with strength and determination.”
Like Denmark or Norway, the president of the European Commission also made any mention of possible responsible. However, this case happens at a time when Russia has been repeated violations of European Union and NATO airspace, namely with raids in Poland, Estonia or Romania.
This case arises after the massive disruption that occurred over the weekend at airports such as London Heathrow, Brussels or Berlin, where dozens of aircraft were forced to stop because of a cyberthyle.
Just spoke with PM Frederiksen regarding the drones incursion around Copenhagen airport.
While the facts are still being established, it is clear we are witnessing a pattern of persistent contestation at our borders.
Our critical infrastructure is at risk.
And Europe will…
