Scientists have noticed something that surprised them: a signal from the parallel universe?!

In 2019, detectors of gravitational waves on Earth recorded a signal that surprised scientists. Gravitational waves are waves in space and time, usually formed by collision of massive objects such as black holes. However, a short pulse called astrophysics brand GW190521, lasting less than a tenth of a second, was different from typical waves of rotating black holes. Scientists believe that this is a signal from a parallel universe.

A team led by Dr. Čich Laja from the Chinese Academy of Sciences suggests that the signal could have been an echo of a red hole collapse. “Worm hole is an object connecting either two separate universes or two distant areas of one universe with a throat”Writes the authors.

If a collision of two black holes briefly created a worm hole, the echo of their collision could pass the neck of the red hole into our universe and appear as a short impulse of gravitational waves. “The signal after merging the binary black holes in another universe can pass through the neck of a red hole and be detected in our universe as a short -term pulse echo,” supplies Laj.

The GW190521 signal was missing a typical rising whistling pattern, which arises in spiraling black holes. The most likely explanation is a direct collision of two black holes without a spiral effect, but the red hole model is still not excluded. By comparing data with the mathematical model, scientists have found that the standard collision model fits better, but only slightly.

“The preferential choice of standard collision was not significant enough to exclude the possibility that the echoing of the echo of the red hole is a viable hypothesis for the GW190521 event,” the authors said. If the hypothesis were true, this would not only show the existence of wormholes, but it would give scientists a new tool to study them and allow for the first time to look into the universe outside our own.
