Abraji opens applications for climate scholarship call – 10/24/2025 – Novo em Folha

A and the Talanoa Institute launch a notice with nine reporting grants and training for journalists interested in covering topics linked to climate adaptation — one of the central axes of , the (United Nations) conference on climate change, which will be held from November 10th to 21st, in .

The project will offer grants of R$5,500 for reports produced in Brazil and US$1,000 (around R$5,382) for international stories. Each participant will receive specialized technical mentoring, editorial support and access to experts.

The notice foresees two selection phases: the first, with registrations until November 1st, aimed at journalists who will be in Belém during COP30, and the second, until December 7th, for reports to be published until February 2026. The selection committee will take into account criteria of regional diversity, gender and race, as well as journalistic relevance, originality and social impact.

Among the priority themes are financing for adaptation, national and local climate adaptation policies, nature-based territorial solutions and climate justice. Registration is open to journalists from Brazil, Europe and Asia —individually or in pairs— and can be done in Portuguese or English.
