Brazilian journalists can apply for a scholarship at nos. The initiative is from the Nieman Foundation for Journalism. In each edition, up to 12 professionals from outside the United States are included.
Selected fellows receive US$85,000 (around R$450,000) over nine months to cover basic expenses during the program, which begins in August 2026. The organization also offers supplemental health insurance and a daycare subsidy for children up to 12 years old.
Applications require a CV, two essays, a summary of the study plan, a portfolio and three letters of recommendation, all in English. You must have at least five years of experience in the field. Since 1938, the program has benefited more than 1,700 journalists from almost one hundred countries.
