The Fundação Cecierj Foundation (Center for Science and Distance Higher Education of the State of Rio de Janeiro) has opened registrations for 7 thousand places in the first academic period of 2026 in the continuing teacher training program.
The opportunities cover the areas of natural sciences, human sciences, special and inclusive education, languages and codes, mathematics, teaching practice and educational technology.
Registration can be made until February 22nd. The courses are aimed at primary and secondary school teachers, as well as other basic education professionals.
All subjects will be offered online, with a workload of 120 hours for updating or 180 hours for improvement, organized into 30-hour modules.
Classes will be held from March 3rd to May 25th. Each candidate may enroll in up to two subjects per academic period.
The modality is distance learning, with no fixed study days and times. Teachers must access the virtual classroom, contact the teaching material and deliver the activities within the proposed deadlines. The program recommends availability of around three hours per week for participation.
Selection criteria
Selection will be made in order of registration, observing priority criteria. Teachers working in basic education in public schools in the state of Rio de Janeiro have priority, followed by teachers in other institutions in the state, other education professionals working in Rio, graduates residing in the state, students from and, finally, graduates residing in other Brazilian states.
When registering, you will need to prove your degree, qualifications in a degree course or teacher training. Update or improvement certificate will be granted to the student who proves to be an education professional and has a higher education course.
