Veteran civil rights activist in the United States, Reverend Jesse Jackson, died this Tuesday (17) at the age of 84, his family said in a statement.
Companion of Martin Luther King in the 1960s, This Baptist pastor and talented speaker removed, throughout his life, the barriers that limited the political space open to African Americans.
“His unwavering faith in justice, equality and love inspired millions of people, and we ask that you honor his memory by continuing to fight for the values he lived for,” his family said.
Jackson was also a candidate for President of the United States twice.
