A Joyful Youth celebrated the title of the São Paulo Carnival 2026 Special Groupachieved this Tuesday (17) during the calculation of grades.
In a post on Instagram, the school praised the plot “Malunga Léa – A tribute to the actress Léa Garcia” as “another glorious chapter in the history of São Paulo Carnival”. Check it out:
Also according to the text on the social network, the school explained that the word “malunga”, used in the title of the samba champion, of African origin, refers to brotherhood and crossing, and was the guiding thread of a parade that celebrated ancestry, resistance and black art in Brazil.
“More than a parade, it was a manifesto”, declared the school, highlighting that the presentation transformed the Anhembi Sambadrome into a stage of reverence for Léa Garcia’s trajectory.
The honoree died in 2023, aged 90, and was recognized as a symbol of struggle and representation in Brazilian audiovisual.
