If confirmed, it would be the tenth sexist crime so far in 2026. The last three, not counting this case, and together with a 12-year-old girl, in less than 72 hours.
The crimes of Pilar, Czarina, María Isabel, Carmen, Victoria, María Belén, Ana, María José, the girl Noemi, and another woman murdered in Madrid, whose name is not even known yet, exemplify the worst end of sexist violence. Five of them, and their attackers, were in the VioGén surveillance system. “We find that women are constantly being told that they have to report, but then, in reality, public services are not up to the demands placed on them,” explained Amparo Díaz Ramos, .
Six children have been orphaned by gender violence this year; There are 510 since 2013, when the official statistics began. There have already been 1,352 women murdered since it was created in 2003; and 66 minors murdered by sexist vicarious violence since 2013, when officially.
