The Civil Defense of the State of Minas Gerais reported that at least 440 people are homeless after heavy rains flooded several neighborhoods in Juiz de Fora, in the early hours of this Tuesday (24).
The City Hall stated, in an official note published on the networks, that it continues to receive citizens who needed to leave their homes in temporary shelters. Yesterday (23) were recorded 251 incidents of homeless people.
The teams reported that they continue working to support affected families and during the rains that caused flooding and flash floods throughout the city.
To date, three schools are operating as shelters for homeless families, namely Escola Municipal Paulo Rogério dos Santos (Monte Castelo), Escola Municipal Murilo Mendes (Alto Grajaú) and Escola Municipal Nilo Camilo Ayupe (Paineiras).
