This Thursday (26), the Civil Police carry out a operation in Paraisópolisin the south zone of São Paulo, against a gang suspected of robbing homes and pharmacies in the interior of the state. Some of those investigated are also suspected of involvement in pharmacy robberies in the capital of São Paulo.
Named “Refúgio Violado”, the action is carried out by the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic), which complies with 14 arrest warrants and 27 search and seizure warrants in the community, where the “core” of the criminal group would be concentrated.
The investigations are led by police officers from the 4th Precinct of the Division of Investigations into Crimes against Property (Disccpat), who identified members of the gang who traveled to cities in the interior of São Paulo, such as Amparo and other municipalities in the Circuito das Águas, in the Serra da Mantiqueira region, to commit the crimes.
According to the Civil Police, the suspects chose homes and condominiums close to rural areas and used stretches of forest to access properties without being noticed. The actions took place mainly during the early hours of the morning.
According to the investigations, the robbers remained inside the houses for hours, using heavy weapons, including rifles, and acted with extreme violencekeeping entire families under threat.
