UEFA announced that the cheapest tickets for the European competition should cost less than £30
There are many complaints about the high ticket prices of the 2026 World Cup.
Meanwhile, UEFA has just given good news to fans who like to go to the stadium: Euro 2028 – which will be hosted in the United Kingdom and Ireland – promises to be much more accessible.
According to the entity, the cheapest Euro 2028 tickets should cost less than £30 (around R$210 to R$220, depending on the quote). In other words: with the cost of two Euro tickets, you can pay less than parking for a single World Cup game in the United States this year.
UEFA also guaranteed that almost 40% of the tickets will be in the cheapest categories — the same strategy adopted at Euro 2024, which facilitated access for ordinary fans. While in Europe fans can follow the competition for little money, in the 2026 World Cup the reality is very different.
FIFA created a limited ticket quota for $60 per gamebut outside this range prices skyrocket. The cheapest ticket for the final starts from US$ 2.000 a US$ 4.000. Anyone who wants to follow a selection from start to finish (round of 16, quarters, semis and finals) can easily spend between US$ 6.000 e US$ 8.000 only with tickets. In short: at Euro 2028, UEFA is prioritizing the common fan and facilitating access to the stadium.
In the 2026 World Cup, the average Brazilian’s pocket will feel the impact greatly.
Unfortunately, once again, the celebration of world football seems reserved for those who can pay dearly.
