May the liberation of Bratislava remind us that living in peace is a gift. Peace is not a given. On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the liberation of Bratislava, Minister of the Interior Matúš Šutaj Eštok (Hlas-SD) stated this on the social network. “Let’s remember this date. Peace is not a given,” Šutaj Eštok wrote, saying that this hereditary gift of our forefathers and I must be passed on to the next generations.
He recalled that hundreds of soldiers of several nationalities died during the liberation of Bratislava, as well as civilians. He also pointed out that even Pope Leo XIV. he called on world leaders to return to the negotiating table and dialogue in relation to armed conflicts. Bratislava was liberated on April 4, 1945.
