TV Markíza will celebrate its 30th birthday on the last day of August. When it started, it was known that one of the most important shows would be the evening news. So the selection of people was a huge priority. The castings were not easy at all, and the beginnings on television were even more difficult. In the end, she also passed the audition Andrea Vadkerti (51), who remembered her time on commercial television in .
The native of Nové Zámky immediately became one of the main presenter stars, and many colleagues took turns at her side. Her first TV partner was Vladimír Repčík (66), with whom she is still in contact today and remembers him as a great person.
“Vlad and I got along very well. He is my TV husband. We meet. We live on the same street. I turn on the light on the terrace, so does he, and this is how we give each other a sign that we are thinking of each other. He’s a great guy. What has never been seen in Televízne noviny is that he has a great sense of humor. It showed us a lot. I love him,” Vadkerti said.
“At that time we were all smoking and all the important things were discussed in front of Marquise by the ashtray (laughs). We were still together – from half past two in the afternoon until about 9:00 p.m. He was definitely more with me than with his wife.” Vadkerti said.
He cannot let his beloved ex-colleague go, also because in the times when Slovakian-Hungarian relations were very tense, he tried to protect her and simply threw away letters from “haters” addressed to her.
“It hurt me because the hatred towards the Hungarians was huge. I caught what a Hungarian is looking for in Slovak news. Fortunately, there was no accent. I didn’t understand why they hated me. At that time, we received a lot of letters from viewers, and Vlado, like a gentleman, even before I came to work, opened them to see if the content was suitable, if they would make me cry, or if they were not targeting me. He put the ugly ones away and left me only the nice ones. He protected me. There were enough ugly ones, I never read it,” she concluded.
