The President of the United States, (Republican Party)stated on Friday (April 10, 2026) that it will be reopened “shortly”. The statement was made on the eve of negotiations between Washington and Tehran, scheduled for this weekend in Islamabad, capital of Pakistan.
Trump said in an interview with journalists that the reopening of the maritime passage will occur automatically, according to Reuters. “This will open automatically… we don’t use the strait, other countries use the strait”he declared. Then he completed: “We will have this open soon”.
