Responsible for attacking him with a punch during a debate in the campaign for mayor of São Paulo in 2024, he posted a video alongside the senator this Thursday (16).
Lima, who at the time had to get stitches on his eyebrow, is a marketer for Flávio’s party, and a trusted man of the party’s president, Valdemar Costa Neto.
The meeting between Medina and Flávio took place during a recording of the pre-candidate for president with , who supports his campaign.
“Flávio Bolsonaro, what do you say to young people who want to be entrepreneurs here in Brazil?”, Medina asks the senator, in the video.
The candidate replies, smiling: “Don’t lose hope. Let’s invest in knowledge, in wisdom. We’ll do the part that’s up to the State. Let’s take the State off the entrepreneur’s back”, he says. Both then hug each other.
Medina is part of Marçal’s team, and was following his participation in the debate when he struck the blow.
Lima was the campaign publicist for Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB). The attacker was formally accused of bodily harm.
When contacted by the Panel, Medina says that the meeting with Flávio is part of a “larger movement of political support that Pablo Marçal has been building, and I am responsible for the entire audiovisual part of his initiatives”.
“There is an intention to support names that we believe represent values aligned with what we defend, using what we know how to do best: image construction, narrative and positioning.”
Regarding the episode involving Lima, he says he recognizes that he made a mistake. “It was an impulsive reaction in a tense moment, and since then I’ve learned a lot from what happened.” The advisor says he wants to meet the marketer to apologize directly, “eye to eye, in the correct way”.
