Presidential candidate and former governor of Minas Gerais Romeu Zema (Novo) spoke a little this Sunday (25) about his economic plan in a post on Instagram. He said he will privatize Petrobras, Banco do Brasil and “undermine the super salaries, perks and schemes that support ‘the untouchables’ of Brasília”.

Zema began by criticizing the Lula government and stated that his plan to make Brazil prosper “is relentless”. “The Lula government spends more than it collects. To cover the bill, it borrows money and this creates a debt that grows without stopping. To support this debt, the government pays loan shark interest to the market and makes you pay loan shark interest too, every time you pay in installments on your card or finance a purchase”, said the pre-candidate.

When commenting on privatization, Zema stated that privatizing Petrobras and Banco do Brasil “it is decisive for our future, but it has become a forbidden subject, not for me”, highlighted. From this action, the former governor believes that this will bring more money to the government, lower interest rates and “cut corruption in the bud”.

Zema also intends to sell state-owned companies which, according to him, “they only make losses, like the Post Office”. He also informed that he wants to cut the government’s participation with private companies.

Finally, the pre-candidate will seek, in addition to commissioned positions, stewardships and ministries as well. “One thing that revolts me is seeing the government rich and the people poor, miserable. I ended this in Minas and I’m going to do the same in Brazil”, added Zema, who also stated that he will eliminate Brazil’s cost, remove bureaucracy and unlock the infrastructure for “take the burden off the shoulders of those who work and produce”.
