During Wednesday’s meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US President Donald Trump insisted that nuclear negotiations with Iran must continue. TASR informs about it according to AP and AFP reports.

Trump recalled the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities
“We didn’t get anything definitive except that I insisted that negotiations with Iran continue to see if a deal can be done or not,” Trump wrote on his own Truth Social network after more than two hours of talks. He called the meeting with Netanyahu “very good” and confirmed the continued “tremendous relationship” between the two countries.
Trump wrote that he prefers to make a deal with Iran. But if it doesn’t work, “we’ll see what the result is.” He recalled that the last time it ended was Operation Midnight Hammer – an American attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Netanyahu wants the talks to include curbs on the ballistic missile program
“Hopefully they will be more sensible and responsible this time. Additionally, we discussed the tremendous progress that has been made in Gaza and the region in general. PEACE truly reigns in the Middle East,” Trump added.
At the meeting, Netanyahu insisted on “the security needs of the State of Israel in connection with the negotiations,” according to his office. The leaders are said to have agreed on further coordination of steps.
The Israeli prime minister’s office said earlier that Netanyahu wanted talks with Iran to include curbs on its ballistic missile program and support for militant groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah. Trump has met with Netanyahu for the seventh time since re-entering the White House.
