The story of the restaurant, located on the island of Armona, in Olhão, begins with a life change that ended up giving rise to a restoration project with its own identity. The initiative is the result of the decision of a family who, in 2013, exchanged their routine for a new beginning by the sea.
This change was motivated by a connection with the place and ended up evolving into the creation of a restaurant that combines different gastronomic influences. “We fell in love with this little paradise,” says the restaurant’s website.
A change that gave rise to a project
The installation on the island marked the beginning of a new stage for the owners, who decided to share this experience with those who visit the space. According to the same source, Lanacosta was born from this desire to create a meeting point linked to the Armona environment.
The family’s personal trajectory is reflected in the way the restaurant was designed, both in terms of concept and offering, which seeks to combine different references in a relaxed context.
The menu presents a varied selection of dishes, starting with the starters, where options appear, such as soup of the day (€5), cod croquettes (€12) or meat carpaccio (€13). There are also proposals, such as prawns with spicy sauce (€14). The menu also includes salads, pastas and alternatives designed for different audiences, including a section dedicated to children up to 12 years old.
In the main dishes, the offer is divided between fish and meat, with emphasis on fresh fish available on the day and options such as tuna steak (€20) or grilled prawns (€30). The menu also includes meat dishes, such as black pork secretos (€18) and Argentine-inspired meat kebabs.
The diversity of the menu allows adaptation to different preferences, maintaining a line that combines seafood products with more traditional suggestions.
Dishes that define the identity of the house
Among the specialties is “Armona spaghetti” (€20), presented as one of the dishes associated with the restaurant. Also part of the offer are proposals, such as the cataplana, prepared for two people. The menu also includes several side dishes, such as salads and potatoes, allowing you to create meals tailored to each customer’s taste.
Lanacosta sees itself as a convivial space, where the experience is not limited to the meal. The objective is to provide an environment aligned with the rhythm of the island. The location and surrounding context contribute to this proposal, which seeks to integrate the space with Armona’s own dynamics.
