Nunes’ allies brand the ‘Dark Horse’ case as crossfire – 06/01/2026 – Panel

Allies of the Ricardo Nunes (MDB) administration say they are in the middle of the crossfire on the eve of the election, after the city hall became the target of an investigation into the Wi-Fi supply contract.

An interlocutor of the mayor says that the Civil Police are acting with resentment and contrary to Governor Tarcísio de Freitas, who in his mandate would have prioritized the valorization of Military Police careers.

The allies’ alibi is that the investigation against Karina Ferreira, the owner of the producer of the film about Jair Bolsonaro, “”, targets the political group of Nunes and Tarcísio and becomes ammunition for the opposition in the governor’s attempt to re-elect.

This Monday (1st), the Civil Police carried out search and seizure warrants at the Secretariat of Technology and Innovation —who signed a collaboration agreement for the Instituto Saber Brasil to install wireless internet points on the outskirts for R$108 million— and at addresses linked to Karina.

When contesting the operation, the mayor’s allies say that all the documentation collected by the police officers has already been made public and can be consulted by any citizen online.
