This is probably the most complex renovation of old buildings in Austria: The Vienna Military History Museum, with its director Georg Hoffmann and under the patronage of Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner (ÖVP), has embarked on a reform path since 2023 that provides for a comprehensive general overhaul in de facto all aspects. The goal: to turn the last large federal museum in state administration, which suffered from multiple problems and often still wallowed in monarchy nostalgia, into a self-reflective showpiece.
