Package of actions includes hospital, polyclinic and vehicles for state health and education
The president (PT) announced, this Wednesday (1st.Jul.2026), a package of more than R$500 million for the areas of health and education in Bahia. The actions include the inauguration of the Hospital Estadual Litoral Norte, in Alagoinhas, the delivery of a polyclinic, in Camaçari, and the distribution of 256 vehicles to transport patients. The Ministry of Education also delivered 29 school buses to the State.
The senator (PT-BA) was present at the event. He is the former leader of the government in the Senate, a position he left after being the target of a about Banco Master. Since the police action, this was the second time he met Lula.
HEALTHCARE DELIVERIES
The Litoral Norte State Hospital is the 1st in Bahia financed by the Novo PAC Saúde, with an investment of R$76 million. The unit has a capacity for 190 beds, offering clinical, surgical, pediatric and obstetric care.
The Ministry of Health will allocate R$92.4 million annually through the MAC Ceiling (Medium and High Complexity) and R$1.5 million per month under the State MAC Ceiling.
The 256 vehicles of the Agora Tem Especialistas – Caminhos da Saúde program were delivered with an investment of more than R$118.7 million and will benefit more than 150 municipalities in Bahia. They are:
- 180 vans and minibuses for transporting patients;
- 58 Mobile Dental Units;
- 18 ambulances from Samu 192.
EDUCATION DELIVERIES
The MEC delivered 29 school buses, with an investment of R$13.2 million from Novo PAC. Since 2023, Bahia has received 342 school buses through the program, with contributions of R$162.7 million.
