About the popular Slovak presenter Adele Vinczeová (45) is known to be the daughter of writer and former politician Jozef Banáš (77). which many people call controversial. Adela herself has publicly admitted many times that she and her father have different opinions on some things, but they can get along, which is not the case in many Slovak families. She spoke about their relationship for the website and explained how their mutual communication works in practice.
They prefer not to talk about politics at all and try to function in a kind of symbiosis. “Although my father looks at the world through his filters, we all have some, but he has different ones. He is still my father, to whom I am grateful for a lot.” she stated that topics such as covid, the war in Ukraine or geopolitics cannot separate her from the person she likes and who, according to her, is a great grandfather.
“I admire him for many things and I don’t get into any debates with him on many things, and neither does he with me. I think he feels the same way – that he probably sees me as mistaken in some things.” admitted the presenter with a smile.
These different worldviews also affect her work considerations, for example, would she ever invite dad as a guest on her own show. The presenter revealed that this idea had already been dropped, but performing it in front of a live audience in a theater would not be ideal, according to her, since the audience is paying for relaxed entertainment.
“I’m not saying that I don’t have a good relationship with my father, but I experience those Sunday lunches and it has a slightly different dynamic,” Vincze honestly added on the sidelines of their mutual debates.
Jozef Banáš is one of the most read and translated Slovak authors. He wrote television scripts, one film, theater comedies, and published a number of books in several languages at home and abroad.
All his books published since 2006 have become bestsellers, although he writes about serious social, political and religious topics. In addition to literary work, he also works in journalism and essay writing, writes commentaries, glosses in the fields of political science, philosophy, religion, culture, and hosted his own talk show Na kus reči. He won several awards for his screenwriting and literary work.
