The farewell to taxi driver Martins, in , was marked by a symbolic gesture that moved family and friends. During the procession and burial, held on Monday afternoon (30), Flamengo’s anthem was played in a car equipped with a speaker, paying a final tribute to one of the worker’s great passions.
Martins passed away last Sunday (29), victim of a massive heart attack, leaving a feeling of sadness among professional colleagues and residents of the municipality. Well known in the city, he was remembered for his dedication to his work and the respectful way in which he treated everyone around him.
The burial took place in the São João Batista cemetery, amid strong commotion. As the anthem echoed through the venue, the atmosphere was one of silence, tears and memories, in a moment that combined pain and tribute.
The initiative to play the anthem came from people close to him, as a way of representing Martins’ love for the Rio club. The simple gesture, but full of meaning, marked the farewell and reinforced the memory of a man who, in addition to being a worker, also brought with him the joy of being a fan.
