SHMÚ warns of danger, it will come in a few hours: These districts should be on the lookout!

In the north of Slovakia, on the night from Sunday to Monday, you have to be careful of the wind in the mountains. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) reported this on its website, which issued first level warnings for the districts of Banská Bystrica, Brezno, Poprad, Dolný Kubín, Liptovský Mikuláš, Martin, Námestovo, Ružomberok, Tvrdošín and Žilina.

Meteorologists expect wind gusts of 110 to 135 kilometers per hour in mountainous areas. “The expected wind speed is normal for the given time of year and area, but it represents a potential danger for human activities (especially for hiking, mountain climbing, etc.),” ​​SHMÚ stated on its website.

The warnings are to start in the northern part of the country at 11 p.m. In some districts of the Žilina region an hour earlier. They are tentatively supposed to remain in force in most of this territory until Tuesday evening.
