President Lula (PT) reported this Tuesday (14) that it was consulted by the Brazilian national team coachCarlo Ancelotti, on Neymar’s call-up or not. The statements were made in an interview with the websites Brasil247, DCM and Revista Fórum.
“I had the chance to talk to Ancelotti, and Ancelotti asked me: ‘Do you think Neymar should be called up?’. And I said: ‘Look Ancelotti, if he is physically prepared, he has football’. You need to know if he wants it. If he wants it, he has to be professional”, said the president.
Lula did not specify when the consultation would take place, but on January 26th of this year, in Brasília. In addition to them, the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, and the president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), Samir Xaud, were also present. In a relaxed chat on the occasion, the PT member asked the coach to take over Corinthians after leaving command of the Brazilian team.
“After you finish your contract with the Brazilian team, please go and coach Corinthians,” said Lula in January.
