The well-known Slovak singer žali: It’s hard for me to say these words… A link to heaven that brings tears to my eyes

A well-known Slovak singer, heligon singer and performer of folk songs Vlasta Mudríková is dealing with a painful loss. She shared the sad news with her fans on social networks. “The heart of my grandmother Emília Čarnecká was touched, these words are hard for me to convey. She was a very self-sacrificing, kind, caring and brave woman who, despite the tragic death of her 37-year-old husband at a young age, raised 3 children in difficult circumstances as a widow,” wrote her granddaughter.

For the grandmother, family came first. She made sure that nothing happened to anyone, and she devoted herself fully to her grandchildren. “Her Sunday lunch and onion rice, only she knew how to cook it so well, even though we had attempts to learn it, it’s just that her pot was probably a magic “cooking cup” because it always tasted best from her. I think that probably all grandmothers and grandchildren feel that way, that our grandmothers and grandmothers cook us everything we want,” Mudríková poured her heart out.

When the artist was still a child, her parents started a business, so she spent more time with her grandmother. She took care of the singer and her brothers into her own hands. “That’s when she was here. She knew it with us since she was a child, and her educational methods should probably be implemented in some households even today. When she put food on a huge plate for us and we couldn’t finish it, the magic formula was enough: “Whoever finishes the last meal, washes the dishes.” You should have seen the speed, it was a race then, and the plate was empty in a second, because no one wanted to wash a lot of dishes,” she recalled.

Another smiling memory popped into her head while writing the status. “Every time she came to our house, she went to the children’s room to check how tidy our closet was, whether things were stored in the chimneys, and if they weren’t, she threw everything away and they had to be neatly arranged. There had to be order and discipline. We also experienced the landlady, we went with her to the nettles and we earned scrap for the poultry. Such childhood was the most beautiful, we talked a lot and I always loved the incidents from her life. I have beautiful memories left,” confessed the crushed artist.

Grandma and mom were Mudríková’s inspiration and source of all her songs. Her grandmother supported her, even when she started going to a folk art school and never missed a performance. “Time and life have passed so quickly. All we have left are memories and I thank you, my dear grandmother, for all you have done for me and for your endless love. Rest in peace and may the eternal light shine upon you“, she beckoned to the sky.
